My Favorite Travel Essentials

We recently just went on our first “big” vacation since Luke was born over 5 years ago. We have gone on lots of weekend getaways, but this was the first time that we flew somewhere. Our final destination was Disney World – it was my first time there too! Check back later on my blog where I’ll post tips that we found helpful for a fun and relatively meltdown-free Disney trip.

Packing for the trip was somewhat stressful, but I’ve put together some tips and items below on things that made getting ready a little easier.

Luggage

Needing luggage for travel is a no-brainer, but one tip that I have to buying luggage is to check stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Sierra Trading Post first. They usually have tons of luggage to choose from and reasonably priced for great quality. While watching the airlines throw my luggage on and off of the conveyor belts, I was glad I didn’t spend a fortune on our new luggage.

Packing Cube Travel Set

Where have packing cubes been all my life? This trip was the first one that I used these packing cubes and what a game changer! Depending on what works best for your trip you can organize your clothes based on whose they are, what part of the trip they are for, or what type of clothes they are.

I will be using these for every trip from now on.

Travel Makeup Bag

I originally bought this Amazon makeup bag for travel, but after using it for the first time I decided to just keep all my makeup together in it from then on. It works perfect for storage or travel and has moveable inserts to accommodate your makeup items and keep it organized.

Jewelry Travel Case

I had purchased my jewelry travel case years ago from Amazon. Since then, they have been updated from the one I have. These are perfect for organizing your jewelry and with the small loops on the lid they help to keep your necklaces from getting tangled together.

Travel Refillable Perfume Bottle

These are so awesome! I’m always worried about my perfume bottle breaking in my luggage, even when we are just driving somewhere. With these travel-sized and refillable perfume bottles you are able to fill with your favorite scent and easily bring perfume with you wherever you go.

Travel Toothbrush Holder

These travel toothbrush holders are perfect. They are big enough to keep your toothbrush and toothpaste together in the same holder. We brought our mechanical toothbrush with us, and these were big enough to hold that as well. We did have to remove the toothbrush head because it was just a little too tall, but it easily fit in the case alongside the toothbrush and paste.

Car Headrest Cell Phone/Tablet Mount

I always try to pack enough activities to keep Luke busy during car rides (and during the plan ride for this last trip) to limit screen time, but sometimes it does end with a movie. This headrest mount is easy to install and use. It helps to keep the phone or tablet at the perfect height to prevent Luke from keeping his neck tilted down while watching a movie. Since it’s hands free it has helped to prevent the dreaded phone drop between the seat and car door.

Travel Pill Organizer

This travel pill organizer is perfect for keeping all of your vitamins and medications together and organized by day. I always like to bring our vitamins whenever we travel, and this case is perfect to fit them all. With the two sides you can either separate by daytime and nighttime medications or I used it to separate Sean and my multivitamins.
