We recently remodeled our spare bath and decided to change out the faucet and bathroom hardware. I ended up looking on Amazon first to see what they had before driving out in the snow to the stores around us. I was kind of blown away with the selection (and quality which I’ll go into more detail later on). Whether you’re looking to completely remodel your bathroom or just upgrade it, this post is for you.
First off, here is a before picture of our bathroom. Well, this is about as close to a before as I could find since Sean got a little crazy and started removing everything before I could take a picture.Â
Our bathroom looked nice before (maybe not in this picture), but I was ready for a change and wanted to upgrade the floors and sink and change up the colors.
I posted a few progress pictures below. We had some issues when we went to replace the sink top because our cabinet was in a corner. All of the replacement sinks that we picked out would drop down over the cabinet. When we placed the sink on top of our cabinet, the wall side sat up higher and couldn’t drop down. Sean came up with a solution to build a support on our existing cabinet…and as you can see in the picture below, Luke got to help.Â
After replacing the floors, sink and backsplash it was time to start adding the new hardware. I’ve linked everything together at the end of this post.
The towel holders and toilet paper holder were all part of the same line. I love the straight lines that these have. When I received them, I was impressed by the quality and finish. One thing I did notice on the longer towel holder is that one of the square ends was a little tilted. It’s not very noticeable once I put towels on it and doesn’t bother me, but something to look out for.
Our new faucet was also from Amazon. I kept with more of the straight lines, and I love the way this looks with our sink. The install was straightforward if you have ever replaced a faucet. We’ve been using it for a few months now and it’s working great.
We kept our bathtub during the remodel, but replaced the shower head, shower curtain rod and rings.
We ended up getting the shower head from Menards because Amazon only had the chrome color available at the time. The shower head is magnetic so you’re able to easily pull it off to use and then replace. This is helpful when cleaning the shower. Since this is a spare bathroom, I didn’t think I would ever end up using the shower. While getting ready for a party at our house I had just finished cleaning the glass in our primary bathroom shower. To avoid all the water spots and having to clean again, I ended up using this shower and can say it has great water pressure.
The shower curtain rod and rings were also from Amazon, easy to install and look nice. So far, the finish has stayed on the curtain rod and has not rubbed off from pulling the curtain open and closed.
We finished the cabinet with black finish handles that were found on Amazon. They feel solid and the finish is a nice matte black color.Â
Found this perfect black framed mirror.
Lastly, I add this cute tissue paper box cover to finish off the bathroom.
Even though the process was filled with lots of stress and issues that pop up, I love how our bathroom turned out. Let me know what you think in the comments!
