The start of a new school year is approaching, and as a parent, you want to make it a special and magical experience for your child. To celebrate this significant milestone, no matter what grade your child is starting, why not plan a delightful back-to-school celebration? In this blog post, we’ll share creative ideas for decorations and treats that will add a touch of magic to your child’s first day of school and keep the excitement going when they get back home!
Let’s start with the centerpiece of our celebration: a back-to-school banner! You can find my template linked in the Supplies section. After printing, I laminated and then cut them out. I added two holes on either side of the eraser portion using a hole punch. String the pencil cutouts together, and voilà ! You have a personalized and cheerful banner to greet your child on their first day.
Apples are a timeless symbol of education, making them the perfect theme for our celebration. Let’s create apple balloons and plates to decorate the space. You’ll need red balloons and red plates for this. Print out the leaf and stem templates either on colored cardstock or on white cardstock and color yourself. After cutting, tape or glue them onto the balloons and plates. These apple decorations will add a splash of color and excitement to your back-to-school setup.

Pencil Cookies for a Sweet Treat
Supplies:
Vanilla Wafer Cookies
White Chocolate Chips – melted
Red Food Dye (add to some another cup of melted white chocolate to make pink)
Black Frosting
To add more sweetness to our celebration, let’s make pencil cookies! Use wafer cookies as the base, and dip one end into pink and white melted chocolate to resemble the pencil’s eraser and body. A touch of black frosting at the opposite end will create the pencil tip. These delightful treats are not only cute but delicious.Â
